To carry out labor activities, foreign citizens in the Republic of Kazakhstan require obtaining a work visa of categories C1, C2, C3 (formerly M1, M2).

A work visa abroad is issued by consular offices on the basis of visa support with a work permit, if necessary.

In Kazakhstan, it is possible to obtain / extend a work visa at the migration authorities. The work visa is multiple-entry, provides for a stay of up to one year, an invitation may also be issued for expatriate family members.
